Discovery Channel Star Billy Brown Dies
Billy Brown the popular start as well as the headman of Discovery Channel’s Alaskan Bush People reality show died on Sunday after suffering a seizure. His son Bear Brown, who was also part of the show confirmed on Instagram. Brown was 68.
“We are devastated to hear of Billy Brown’s sudden passing. He has been part of the Discovery family for years — a trailblazer, a lovely man, and most definitely one of a kind, a Discovery rep wrote on Twitter. “Our heart is with his family and those that knew him and loved him as they deal with this devastating loss.”
Bear Brown wrote on Instagram, “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure. He was our best friend — a wonderful and loving dad, granddad, husband, and he will be dearly missed.
He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well. We plan to honour his legacy going forward and to continue with his dream. We ask for privacy and prayers during this painful time! God bless everyone!”
With the news came in as shocking as it was, the Browns have become no strangers to the heartbreaks. In 2017, the family lost Ami, 57 after being diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.
Celebrating the Life of Billy Brown of Alaskan
Billy Brown of the Alaskan was an expert outdoorsman and an author. He has so much passion and love of the forest along with everything that lives there runs deep within him. Even though he was an avid hunter, he finds so much joy spending time side by side with the wildlife. Billy had a natural ease in the wilderness and most animals tend to sense.
He was constantly on the lookout for a new remote high mountain lake or stream that he could go fishing. Billy Brown spent years as a commercial fisherman within the northern pacific. Billy Brown will always be a living legend and the Discovery Channel and we cannot dispute what he has contributed in the entertainment industry.
